How to Block Minecraft Videos on YouTube Kids

YouTube Kids is a great platform for children to watch age-appropriate videos, but sometimes you might want to block certain content, like Minecraft videos. There are a few ways to do this:

1. Using the "Block" Feature

  • Open YouTube Kids and log in to your parent account.
  • Search for a Minecraft video you want to block.
  • Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the video.
  • Select "Block".

This will prevent your child from seeing this specific video.

2. Using the "Disapprove" Feature

  • Open YouTube Kids and log in to your parent account.
  • Tap on the "Watch History" tab to see your child's viewing history.
  • Find a Minecraft video you want to disapprove.
  • Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the video.
  • Select "Disapprove".

This will prevent your child from seeing this specific video and will also prevent similar videos from appearing in their recommendations.

3. Using YouTube Kids' App Settings

  • Open YouTube Kids and log in to your parent account.
  • Tap on the "Settings" icon.
  • Select "Recommended Content".
  • Choose "Off".

This will completely disable the "Recommended" tab and remove the "Explore" section from the app.

4. Using YouTube Kids' Channel Blocking

  • Open YouTube Kids and log in to your parent account.
  • Search for a Minecraft channel you want to block.
  • Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner of the channel.
  • Select "Block".

This will block all videos from this channel from appearing in your child's feed.

5. Using YouTube's Restricted Mode

While not directly on YouTube Kids, you can enable restricted mode on YouTube to limit exposure to certain content. However, this won't block Minecraft videos specifically.

Important Notes

  • Blocking videos doesn't remove them from YouTube Kids completely. Children might still find them through external links or searches.
  • Regularly review your child's watch history and use the "Disapprove" feature to prevent the appearance of similar content.
  • Communicate with your child about appropriate content and why certain videos are blocked.

By utilizing these methods, you can curate a safer and more appropriate YouTube Kids experience for your child, while still allowing them to enjoy the platform's vast library of content.
