How to Upgrade to YouTube Premium Family Plan
The YouTube Premium Family Plan is a great way to enjoy all the benefits of YouTube Premium, including ad-free viewing, offline downloads, and YouTube Music Premium, with up to five family members. If you're currently on a YouTube Premium individual plan and want to switch to the Family Plan, here's how to do it:
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
- Make sure you have a YouTube Premium account: You can't upgrade to the Family Plan unless you already have an individual YouTube Premium subscription.
- Verify your account location: The Family Plan is available in select countries. You can find out if it's available in your region by visiting the YouTube Premium website.
Step 2: Upgrade Through Your Account Settings
- Log in to your YouTube account: Go to YouTube.com and sign in with your credentials.
- Access your account settings: Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and then select "Settings."
- Navigate to "Membership": In the left-hand menu, click on "Membership."
- Select "Upgrade to Family Plan": On the Membership page, look for the option to "Upgrade to Family Plan."
- Review the plan details and confirm: Carefully read the terms and conditions of the Family Plan and click "Confirm" to proceed.
Step 3: Invite Family Members
- Access the Family Manager: After upgrading to the Family Plan, you'll be redirected to the Family Manager.
- Start inviting members: Click on "Invite family members" and follow the on-screen instructions. You can invite family members who are 13 years or older.
- Send invitations: Enter the email addresses of your family members, and invitations will be sent to them.
- Accept the invitation: Your family members will need to accept the invitation and create a YouTube account (if they don't already have one).
Step 4: Enjoy the Benefits
Once your family members have accepted the invitations, they'll automatically have access to all the features of YouTube Premium. You can manage your family members' accounts, including removing or adding new members, within the Family Manager.
Important Note: The Family Plan is a recurring subscription. You can cancel at any time, but you'll need to pay for the remaining portion of your current billing cycle.
